Shakib's five, Ebadot's four help skittle India for 186
Shakib Al Hasan and Ebadot Hossain shared nine wickets as India were bowled out for 186 in 41.2 overs in the first ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh in Mirpur on Sunday.
Shakib took five wickets for 36 runs – the best figures for a Bangladeshi spinner against India – to break the back of the India innings after they were sent in to bat by Bangladesh's stand-in skipper Liton Das on a tricky pitch.
The captain himself took a blinder to send back star India batter Virat Kohli for nine of a Shakib delivery as the visitors were under the cosh right from the word go. Shakib, who also dismissed Rohit Sharma, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur took his ODI wickets tally to 290, 127 of which came in Mirpur.
Ebadot got four for 46 runs, including the important wicket of KL Rahul, who topscored with a 70-ball 73 for India.
Mehedi hasan Miraz got the other wicket – the first one to fall – that of Shikhar Dhawan to start squeezing the India innings very early.
