BNP to hold divisional rallies on Feb 4: Fakhrul

BNP is scheduled to organise rallies at all divisional headquarters across Bangladesh on February 4 to press home its 10-point demand, including the unconditional release of its leaders and activists.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at today's rally in front of party's Nayapaltan headquarters.

Hundreds of BNP leaders and activists thronged the party's Nayapaltan headquarters to take part in their protest rally, which started at 2:00pm.

The protest rally is part of the simultaneous movements of BNP and other like-minded political parties.

Metro rail will now stop at Pallabi station

Nearly one month after the inauguration of the metro rail service in Dhaka, Mirpur's Pallabi Station has been opened to commuters today.

Now, commuters can travel from Uttara North Station to Pallabi, Pallabi to Uttara, and Agargaon to Pallabi.

Also, a new timing has been set for metro rail as it will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm instead of 8:00am to 12:00pm, considering the demand of the passengers.

Microsoft services face outage globally

The data from the outage tracking website Downdetector showed more than 3,900 incidents in India and over 900 in Japan.

Outage reports also spiked in Australia, Britain and the United Arab Emirates.

During the outage, most users were unable to exchange messages, join calls or use any features of Teams application.

Work to prevent price manipulation in Ramadan: Tipu Munshi

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi told the deputy commissioners today to be on alert to ensure no one takes advantage by manipulating prices during the month of Ramadan.

The DCs were also directed to take measures so that traders could get fair prices for rawhide during Eid-ul-Azha.

Dhaka tops list of cities with most polluted air in the world

Dhaka once again topped the list of cities around the world with the worst air quality this morning.

An AQI between 151 and 200 is said to be 'unhealthy' while 201 and 300 is considered 'very unhealthy', and 301 to 400 is considered 'hazardous', posing serious health risks to residents.

Uzbekistan's Tashkent and Myanmar's Yangon occupied the second and third spots in the list, with AQI scores of 211 and 177, respectively.
