Halls reopen because of SRK's ‘Pathaan’
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many cinema halls—particularly single-screen locations—permanently closed their doors, as they were struggling to survive. However, it appears that Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" is not only reviving Bollywood, but also single-screen cinema halls.
Bachpan mein saari filmein single screens par hi dekhi hain. Uska apna hi maza hai. Duas, Prathna aur Prayers karta hoon…aap sabko aur mujhe kaamyaabi mile. Congratulations on your re-openings. pic.twitter.com/LuF2TsCjvh

"Pathaan" will be screened in 25 single-screen cinema halls, that were forced to close permanently due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Shah Rukh Khan posted on Twitter, detailing the number of halls which were being reopened because of his film.
"During my childhood, I used to watch movies in single-screen halls and I really can't describe the excitement I felt at that time. I really hope that these single screens halls survive and are able to do well. Congratulations to all on your re-opening," read the post.
With 5.56 lakh tickets sold, "Pathaan" has already surpassed the advance booking sales record set by "KGF: Chapter 2", which was around 5.15 lakh. On the other hand, "Baahubali: The Conclusion", which sold 6.50 lakh advance tickets, still tops the list.
"Pathaan" has sparked a lot of curiosity and interest because of King Khan's star power. With this action-thriller film, SRK returns to the big screen after a 5-year hiatus.
The spy thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The film, which is part of YRF's spy universe, has been released in theatres today.
