Fans throw bottle at Kailash Kher during concert
On Sunday, Bollywood singer Kailash Kher was verbally and physically assaulted during a concert in Karnataka's Hampi. This was reportedly due to the singer not performing a Kannada song. According to authorities, a bottle was thrown at him from the crowd, who were furious with the musician for singing only Hindi songs during the closing ceremony.
Two residents, Pradeep, 22, and Surah, 21, were arrested in relation to the incident and their statements were recorded, according to police.
The footage of the event, in which the singer can be seen singing "Tu Jaane Na", shows a bottle being thrown at him. The video has gone viral on multiple social media platforms. The bottle in question narrowly missed Kher, but he didn't flinch and continued to perform.
The three-day Hampi Utsav began on January 27 and ended with the singer performing live in front of thousands of fans on the final day. Several notable Bollywood and Tamil playback singers, including Vijay Prakash, performed at the three-day event.
