Jennifer Aniston rocking a lehenga in Murder Mystery 2
When Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler star in a film together, you can anticipate a lot of laughter. When the teaser for their Murder Mystery sequel was released, it was Aniston's deshi moment in a Manish Malhotra lehenga that got everyone talking.
The teaser for Murder Mystery 2 revealed another entrant in a new wave of exotic comedy murder mysteries, but it was Jennifer Aniston's lehenga that drew local fans' attention. The Friends star returns alongside Adam Sandler in the follow-up to 2019's smash success first picture, which was released the same year as Knives Out.
The film's idea was spelt out in the trailer, which was published on Monday. Audrey and Nick Spitz, Aniston and Sandler's married middle-aged characters from the previous film, are invited to the Maharaja's wedding. When the Maharaja goes missing (and is assumed dead), the Spitzs find themselves in the heart of another mystery they decide to investigate.
Jennifer Aniston's character is seen wearing a glittering lehenga made by Manish Malhotra in various teaser images. In response to Netflix India's Instagram post announcing the teaser, filmmaker Karan Johar said, "Go Manish!!!!! "It's your lehenga!"
Several others reacted to the surprise collaboration on Twitter. The designer himself republished several tales about his lehenga being included in the film.
Adam, Jennifer's co-star, was also spotted wearing an ivory sherwani. The film, directed by Jeremy Garelick, will be released in March on a major streaming platform. The first instalment of the series, Murder Mystery, which debuted on June 14, 2019, had an amazing response, with 30.8 million views in the first three days.
Adam played New York City police officer Nick Spitz, while Jennifer played his wife Audrey, a hairdresser and murder mystery novel lover. The film series follows the journey of an everyday couple who become involved in a murder investigation. The sequel, likewise written by James Vanderbilt, has Audrey and Nick in an international case when their friend is abducted during his own wedding.
