2 BCL leaders suspended from DU
Two leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League have been suspended from Dhaka University for "breach of discipline".
The university authorities took the decision today on the basis of some complaints over several incidents of mugging recently, according to campus sources.
The two are Tanzir Arafat Tushar, a student of international relations department, and Rahul Ray, a student of law.
Tushar is the joint general secretary of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall BCL and Rahul Roy, immediate-past member of the organisation's central committee.
They were also asked to show cause in seven days as to why they would not be permanently expelled from the university.
DU BCL General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Saikat told The Daily Star, "We already recommended the central body take action against them. We hope they will do it as soon as possible."
