Ronaldo's jersey auctioned for Turkey earthquake relief
Atalanta centre-back and former Cristiano Ronaldo teammate from Juventus Merih Demiral came forward to aid the earthquake victims in Turkey as he put forward for auction a Juventus kit signed by the Portuguese star.
The kit is from Demiral's personal collection and he assured that all proceedings for the item will be sent for relief to fund Turkey's earthquake victims.
"I just spoke with Cristiano," the Turkey international wrote on Twitter. "He said he was very sad about what happened in Turkey. We are auctioning Ronaldo's signed jersey from my collection. All proceeds from the auction will be used in the earthquake zone."
On Monday, Turkey was hit by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that left thousands dead and many still trapped.
Demiral's post caught the attention of many and a few footballers have also come forward offering items for the cause.
In another Tweet, Demiral wrote," And now I talked to Leonardo Bonucci. He expressed his sadness and said that Turkey stands by our people. He also said he donated a signed Juventus jersey."
