Youth Global Foundation empowers 14 arts-and-culture platforms in Bangladesh
Youth Global Foundation, one of the largest organisations dedicated to the empowerment of the youth in Bangladesh, has recently announced its support to 14 arts and culture platforms. The announcement was made by the Chairperson of Youth Global Foundation, Seema Hamid, during a cultural night event hosted at 'Ichhe Bari' in Madani Avenue, Dhaka. The 14 arts and culture organisations have developed under the Gurukul Online Learning Network and are specialised in various disciplines such as music, dance, fine arts, film, and more.
According to the organisers, Youth Global Foundation will provide a scholarship to one student or researcher from each of these platforms. Moreover, every year, the foundation will facilitate the 14 platforms in honouring individuals and organisations making special contributions to relevant cultural fields. The foundation will also act as an accelerator for these platforms, working to strengthen and expand the base of these fields.
"After completing primary lessons, those demonstrating a high form of talent and interest will be provided a scholarship every year. This scholarship could support further education at home or overseas, as well as the dedicated practice of the art form or research. The Youth Global Foundation hopes that by recognising the contributions made by individuals and organisations in these fields, more talented people will be encouraged to pursue arts and culture," said Seema Hamid, adding that the foundation will work to connect foreign artists and cultural activists with Bangladeshi artists.
At the event, Pandit Asit Dey, Chief Guru and Secretary of Gurukul Online Network's platform, Art and Culture Gurukul, expressed gratitude, saying that patronage at the individual, social, institutional, and state levels is essential, especially as art and culture have not yet been fully developed as an industry in Bangladesh.
About 200 teachers, artists, and renowned personalities from various sectors of art and culture were present at the event. After the inaugural programme, teachers of Art and Culture Gurukul participated in various performances, including a solo flute performance by Mustakim Abir, a sitar-violin duet by Samhita Chakraborty and Nishit Dey, and a tabla performance by Prashant Bhowmik.
The support of Youth Global Foundation is expected to give a significant boost to the arts and culture industry in Bangladesh, providing young and talented individuals with the opportunities they need to develop their skills and pursue their dreams.
