Dhaka College students take away Ideal College’s sign board ‘to seek revenge’

A section of Dhaka College students today removed the sign board of Ideal College following a clash.

"We dragged down the sign board of Ideal College after breaching the gate when we heard that Ideal College students vandalised our college bus. We did it to take revenge," said Shamim, a student of Dhaka College.

An eyewitness, seeking anonymity, said, "I saw a group of students take away the sign board of Ideal College. The students were celebrating after breaching the Ideal college gate. I saw them dragging the sign board towards Dhaka College."

Several students were injured this afternoon during a clash that started between groups of students of Dhaka College and Ideal College over vandalism of a college bus in the capital's Science Laboratory intersection and nearby areas.

At least three students were hurt during the chase and counter-chase that followed the initial clash.

The injured students were being treated at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, sources at the hospital said. A long tailback was created during the clash.
