Shakib, and Ebadot leave England three down
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, and pacer Ebadot Hossain gave Bangladesh an opening as the Tigers took three wickets to leave England three down for 55 runs in the third ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Monday.
Shakib gave the Tigers their first breakthrough in the ninth over as he sent back the England opener Phil Salt, who hit four boundaries for his 25-ball 35 before he cut a short and wide one by Shakib straight to cover.
In the next over, it was pacer Ebadot Hossain who sent back Dawid Malan for nought as he brought out his signature salute in celebration.
Ebadot managed to hit the hard-length and got it to extract a bit of extra bounce off the surface as it angled away the batter. Malan tried to drive it but miscued it straight to mid-on.
The centurion from the previous match, Jason Roy was the next to go. In the eleventh over, he rocked onto the back foot to put away a short one by Shakib but the ball, as it often does from the left-arm spinner, came back with the arm and kept low to evade the bat of Roy, who had managed a 33-ball 19, leaving England on 55 for three in the 11th over.
Sam Curran and James Vince came to the crease after the dismissals.
Earlier, Bangladesh were bundled out for 246 after opting to bat first.
