Clashes between students and locals: RU forms probe committee

Rajshahi University (RU) authorities have formed a three-member committee to probe the clash between students and locals.

The members of the committee include former proctor and Chemistry Professor Tariqul Hasan and Assistant Proctor Arifur Rahman, reports our Rajshahi staff correspondent.

Professor Pradeep Kumar Pandey, administrator of the university's public relations department, confirmed it to The Daily Star.

He said a letter in this regard will be issued tomorrow.

Yesterday, the students clashed with traders and locals at Binodpur Bazar area where at least 220 students were injured.

According to the students, the students first clashed with the helper of a bus driver over bus fare. Later, locals attacked the students.
