Jyotika Jyoti appointed new director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy
Prominent film actress Jyotika Jyoti charmed the audience with her excellent acting prowess on the silver screen with multiple hit productions including "Anil Bagchir Ekdin", "Maya—The Lost Mother" and "Laal Moroger Jhuti" amongst many others. The actress will soon be joining as the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The news was confirmed to The Daily Star by the actress herself. According to the government contract, Jyotika will be the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy for the next two years.
She shared, "Yes, It's a big responsibility and everyone is congratulating me." Jyoti continued, "I have never worked in a position like this before, and it's a completely new experience for me. But I want to do some good work here."
Speaking about her joining, she said, "To be honest, this type of work is completely new to me, so I don't have any plans revolving around the post yet. Also, I have yet to visit the ministry and officially join the academy. First, I need to know the full scope of my responsibilities and work and from there, I will be improving where it's necessary."
"This is a cultural field, and I assure everyone that I will be giving my all for the betterment of our nation's arts and culture," concludes the actress.
Jyoti was last seen in the National Award winning film, "Laal Moroger Jhuti". The actress has already completed shooting for three of her upcoming films "Manusher Bagan", "Onabirto'' and "Anishtritiya". On top of that, she is also set to start shooting a new untitled project soon.
