Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan reached his 53rd ODI fifty to give the Tigers a solid platform to accelerate from as he along with debutant Towhid Hridoy helped their side to 155 for three after the end of the 30th over in the first ODI of the three-match series against Ireland at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Shakib hit two fours and took 65 balls to reach the landmark as he stitched a 74-run stand with Hridoy, who remained unbeaten on a 41-ball 40.
