McBrine sends back Tamim as Ireland end day on a high
Ireland ended the final session of the first day of the one-Test against Bangladesh on a high as off-spinner Andy McBrine sent back Tigers opener Tamim Iqbal on the last delivery of the day to leave the hosts two down for 34 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
McBrine zipped one in and it turned sharply away off the pitch as it took the outside edge of Tamim's bat. The left-handed batter, who scored 21, took a reaching stride forward and planted his bat straight hoping to fend it off but the ball extracted some extra bounce and popped off the shoulder of the bat and went straight to Mark Adair at second slip.
