Shakib now the highest wicket-taker in T20Is
Bangladesh's Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan has reached a new milestone as he became the highest wicket-taker in T20Is during the Tigers' second T20I against Ireland at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
Shakib surpassed New Zealand's Tim Southee to move to the top of the list for most T20I wickets when he scalped the wicket of George Dockrell in the sixth over. Shakib has already bagged a fifer in the game, his T20I wickets tally reaching 136 in 114 matches. Southee, second in the list, has 134 wickets in 107 T20Is.
Shakib ended his four-over quota for the game, giving away 22 runs for five wickets -- his second-best bowling figures in T20Is. Five for 20 against West Indies in Mirpur in 2018 is his best figure in T20Is.
Ireland lost six for 64 runs in chase of a 203-run target in the 17-over-a-side game.
