Bangladesh will keep the attacking mindset in Tests, says Miraz

Despite the fact that Bangladesh always banked on the spin friendly surfaces especially in the longest format of the game at home but according to all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz the hosts will continue their positive approach from the white ball format and expecting a sporting pitch for the one-off Test against Ireland from tomorrow.

The Tigers came up with an attacking mindset under head coach Chandika Hathurusingha where the pitch offered assistance to the seamers in the recent white ball series against England and Ireland.

The likes of Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed and others have shown vast improvement in the recent times as the Tigers fast bowling unit under pace bowling coach Allan Donald is growing in confidence.

The question was there to Miraz whether the Tigers will look to undo the relatively inexperienced Ireland side with spin and the 25-year-old informed that the hosts are willing to prepare a sporting track which will offer help for the seamers as well.

''Since we are the hosts there are talks that we always tend to prepare spin friendly pitches to do well but I think there will be opportunities for the pacers as well. Since we have seen the wicket the curator is trying to prepare a good wicket so that our batters, pacers and spinners can do well and play proper Test cricket. We are planning to form the side keeping that in mind,'' Miraz told the media ahead of the Test in Mirpur on Tuesday.

He also hinted that the Tigers will play attacking brand of cricket even in the longest format and are willing to adjust quickly from the white ball cricket to red ball format.

''If you have noticed there have been attacking brand of cricket in modern day where teams are trying to attack even in Test format in world cricket at the moment. So obviously we will also try to do the same and definitely apart from the small technical changes, our mentality will remain the same. At the end of the day scoring runs matters whether it's the white ball or red ball cricket,'' he said.

According to the Miraz, Bangladesh is not taking Ireland lightly and informed that the Tigers will remain focused despite the lack of experience from the visitors in the longest format of the game.
