The literacy rate in Bangladesh rose to 74 per cent in 2022, according to the Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2022 of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

The literacy rate was 65.6 per cent in 2016 and 57.91 per cent in 2010, said the survey report, which was published today.

The BBS conducted the survey among 14,400 households from January 1 to December 31 last year.
