Amidst extreme heat, we welcomed the first day of Summer by embracing the Bengali New Year 1430.

The colourful and joyous occasion has been welcomed by the celebrities as well. Throughout the day, stars have been updating fans via posting on social media.

Noted actor Chanchal Chowdhury shared a post wishing everyone a happy new year, and wrote, "Beyond all religion, our identity is that we are Bengali. Let that bond remain unbroken." After that he wrote a few lines of the national anthem, "Amar Shonar Bangla Ami Tomay Bhalobashi." The post was attached with a photo of the actor standing in front of festoons, colourful masks that are the signature representation of the festival.

Renowned artiste Nusrat Imrose Tisha posted a black and white photo of her family, (with husband Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, and daughter Ilham) on her official Facebook page. The photo was taken by Kaushik Iqbal.

"May the new year bring happiness for all. Wishing you all Shubho Noboborsho, from our family to yours," the post read.

Former Lux Superstar Zakia Bari Mamo posted some beautiful pictures of how she spent the day. She attended the Mangal Shobhajatra with some of her colleagues and friends. The pictures were linked with the message of bringing joy and prosperity among everyone. The artiste wished all Shubho Noboborsho.

Popular actor Mehazabien Chowdhury posted pictures of her wearing a perfect Boishakhi outfit. She draped a white Sharee with red border, hand full of red reshmi bangles, with jhapta earrings. A white flower beside her ear, and red bindi on her forehead enhanced her beauty making her look like a Bangali Lonona.

Renowned actor Bidya Sinha Mim also uploaded a picture with her husband Soni Poddar, wishing everyone well for the new year. The actor and her partner are wearing matching clothes. Mim was wearing an off-white Sharee with a crimson blouse, along with golden jhumka.
