Bangladeshi artistes perform at Coachella 2023
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the biggest annual events, taking place in California. This year's event, which kicked-off on April 14 has been no different, featuring some of the biggest names in music from Blackpink to Bad Bunny.
For all of us Bangladeshis, this year's Coachella was extra special as it featured performances from two artistes of Bangladeshi descent. Jai Wolf and Joy Crookes are the two artistes in question.
Sajeeb Saha aka Jai Wolf is a Bangladeshi born electronic music producer, who grew up in New York. He is well known for his songs "Indian Summer" and "Like it's over". While not born in Bangladesh, Joy Elizabeth Akther Crookes aka Joy Crookes, also shares similar roots with Jai Wolf, in the sense that her mother is Bangladeshi. Joy rose to fame with her songs "Feet don't fail me now" and "When you were mine".
Both the artistes of Bangladeshi descent were featured on Weekend 1 of Coachella, as they delivered stellar performances that captivated the crowd.
The first weekend of Coachella also featured another artiste from the sub-continent, as Ali Sethi performed the much loved Coke Studio song, "Pasoori".
