‘Finally a Tendulkar has an IPL wicket’
Australia's Cameron Green hit his maiden half-century in the Indian Premier League and took one wicket to lead Mumbai Indians to a 14-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday.
In Hyderabad's chase, Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, started with the new ball for Mumbai to bowl two economical overs in his second IPL outing after his debut on Sunday.
Needing 20 in the final over, Mumbai handed the ball to Arjun and the left-arm quick bowled a perfect over and got his maiden IPL wicket to seal the match.
In his 78-match IPL career, Sachin Tendulkar has failed to get a single wicket. From 2008 to 2013, the legendary Indian batsman bowled only six overs and all of them in the 2009 season.
However, on Tuesday, he has full praise for his son Arjun, who picked up his first IPL wicket with the last ball of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
"A superb all-round performance by Mumbai Indians once again. Cameron Green was impressed with both bat & ball. Ishan & Tilak's batting is as good as it gets! The IPL is getting more interesting every day. Great going, boys!
"And finally a Tendulkar has an IPL wicket," Tendulkar wrote on Twitter.
"Obviously it was great getting my first IPL wicket. I just had to focus on what was in hand, the plan and execute it," Arjun Tendulkar said after the game on the official broadcast.
"Our plan [in the last over] was just to bowl wide and get the long boundary [on the off side] into play, make the batsman hit it to the longer side."
