Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority conducts a drive to evict river grabbers along the Turag in the capital’s Sinnirtek area yesterday. The BIWTA cleared a truck stand and knocked down 17 makeshift shops during the drive to recover 0.4 acres.

People loading boats on three-wheelers after buying them at Salutikar Bazar in Sylhet’s Gowainghat upazila yesterday. In preparation for the rainy season, people of the upazila have started buying boats as water bodies overflow during this season and many get marooned. Boats become the main mode of communication in Gowainghat, a low-lying and flood-prone area.
