Nagorik Natya Sampradaya returns with ‘Ontore Bahire Chitrangada’ after 3 years
Everyone knows the story. The king is supposed to have a son. However, his newborn child is a girl. Even though he has a daughter, Chitrangada is brought up like a son. Once, while hunting, she would meet the 'dream hero' Arjun. However, seeing Chitrangada, who was raised like a boy, Arjun was naturally not attracted to her. As a result, a new feeling of femininity arose within Chitrangada.
Nagorik Natya Sampradaya's new play "Ontore Bahire Chitrangada" is based on Rabindranath Tagore's "Chitrangada" . The group's 47th production has been planned and directed by Sara Zaker. The inaugural performance of the play will be taking place today at 7 pm at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity in Dhaka. The second performance of the play will be held on the same stage, tomorrow evening.

At the beginning of 2023, the 'Aly Zaker Notuner Utshob' was organised, yet we were not able to stage any of Nagorik Natya Sampradaya's play there. After the festival, I started thinking about 'Chitrangada'. Within a very short amount of time, we started rehearsals. Not only our theatre troupe, but many people in the world of dance and music have been involved with this play in a variety of ways."
Rachel Priyanka and Farzana Mukta will be seen playing the role of Chitrangada in the play. The songs for the character of Chitrangada will be sung by Farhin Khan Joyita.
