'Hawa' releasing on Indian OTT platform
After the immense success of "Hawa" in theatres, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon's debut directorial film was released on the local OTT platform, iscreen, a few months ago.
The film is now set to stream on popular Indian OTT platform Sony LIV, from July 7.
The news was exclusively shared on the platform's official Facebook page, with the caption – "'Hawa', Bangladesh's official entry to The Oscars 2023, streaming from 7th July exclusively on Sony LIV."
Both Sariful Razz and Nazifa Tushi shared the post on their respective profiles.
Starring Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Sariful Razz and Shohel Mondol, the film was released on July 29, last year. It was a successful film in local theatres. The film did well in India, Australia, Canada, and in America as well.
"Hawa" was released in Kolkata on December 16, 2022. On the other hand, the film earned much appreciation during its screening at the 4th Bangladesh Film Festival held in India.
The director's next film "Roid", produced by Jaya Ahsan, is a government grant project. It is speculated that Jaya will also act in the film.
