For the third time, National Award-winning actor Chanchal Chowdhury bagged an award in Kolkata.

He has been honoured with the Tele Cine 'Best Actor' award for his performance in the film, "Hawa". Earlier he received the same award for "Aynabaji" and "Debi". The actor went to Kolkata to receive the honour in person. Through a gala event, he was handed over the prize where the houseful audience applauded and showered him with love.

The Daily Star caught up with the artiste to learn about his experience and much more.

"Recognition for hard work is always joyous, and that being beyond the border is even more overwhelming," he shared.

He also said that this award has created a bond amongst the two Bengals, and that he sees many positive sides to this.

The "Monpura" actor is equally loved by people from both sides of the border. After his stellar performance in OTT web-series like "Taqdeer", "Karagar" and many others, he has noticeably grabbed the attention of the audience from overseas.

"This appreciation is really good for our industry. People love my work, that conveys our story and originality," Chanchal noted.

The Mejbaur Rahman Sumon directorial film, "Hawa" has earned numerous accolades, and people still have a craze for the project. "It is a great matter of joy that the film is still in the hearts of the people, and I really hope that our film eventually captivates the entire world," concluded Chanchal.

The actor has been staying at Nizam Hotel in Kolkata. He informed that their chefs cook delicious food and that he likes to eat chicken rolls whenever he visits Kolkata.

Chanchal Chowdhury has recently completed the shooting for Srijit Mukherji's "Padatik", which is a biopic of Mrinal Sen.
