Three dengue patients died while 889 others were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till this morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the new deaths, the total number of dengue deaths rose to 76 this year while total number of cases rose to 13,843, of which 4,179 are from outside Dhaka.

Some 3,253 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of which 1,173 are from outside Dhaka.

A total of 10,514 dengue patients were released from hospitals across the country after recovery.

The total number of deaths in dengue was 281 last year while the total number of cases was 62,382, of which 23,162 were outside Dhaka.

Experts urged authorities concerned to conduct extensive drives identifying clusters of Aedes mosquitoes as soon as possible.
