From ‘Joker’, Joaquin Phoenix transforms into 'Napoleon'
Acclaimed actor, Joaquin Phoenix, known for his role in "Gladiator," and "Joker" joins forces once again with renowned director Ridley Scott for their latest cinematic endeavour, "Napoleon." Sony and Apple have unveiled the highly anticipated first trailer for the film, featuring Phoenix as the iconic French military commander Napoleon Bonaparte.
Offering a fresh perspective on Napoleon's origins and his rapid rise to being an emperor, "Napoleon" explores the tumultuous and addictive relationship between the historical figure and his wife, Joséphine. The film delves into his famous battles, relentless ambition, and extraordinary strategic genius as a military leader and visionary.
Alongside Phoenix, the cast of "Napoleon" boasts an impressive lineup, including Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine, Tahar Rahim as Paul Barras, Ben Miles as Caulaincourt, Ludivine Sagnier as Theresa Cabarrus, and Matthew Needham as Lucien Bonaparte.
In addition to the powerful on-screen reunion of Phoenix and Scott, "Napoleon" sees the collaboration of screenwriter David Scarpa, known for "All the Money in the World," and producer Mark Huffam.
The film is set to captivate audiences exclusively in theatres starting on November 22, during the Thanksgiving weekend, with a later release on Apple TV+ for streaming.
