Mohanayak Uttam Kumar returns through VFX in Srijit Mukherji's 'Oti Uttam' trailer
On the occasion of the 43rd death anniversary of 'Mohanayak' Uttam Kumar, renowned director Srijit Mukheji released the trailer preview of his much-anticipated film, "Oti Uttam".
Srijit Mukherji's passion for the project is evident as he shared his journey of painstaking research, re-watching 62 films frame by frame, and navigating countless challenges to bring this dream to life.
The film's poster was first released in 2021, on the birth anniversary of the megastar.
The plot of "Oti Uttam" revolves around a film researcher, portrayed by Anindya Sengupta, who embarks on research centered on Uttam Kumar. He likes a girl but gets rejected. He decides to bring back Uttam Kumar's spirit with the help of his friend, played by Gaurav Chatterjee, who is the grandson of Uttam Kumar.
Fans will have the unique experience of seeing Uttam Kumar's character come to life through VFX in the movie, with footage skillfully brought to the screen.
Uttam Kumar, fondly remembered as 'Mahanayak,' left an indelible mark on Bengali cinema with hits like "Nayak," "Chowringhee," "Saptapadi," and "Anthony Firingee." His legacy lives on through his numerous iconic works and contributions to the industry.
"Oti Uttam" is slated to release in December this year.
