Animes Roy to make playback debut in Tollywood

"Nasek Nasek" famed singer Animes Roy will be lending his voice to a Tollywood film for the first time. The film titled, "O Obhagi" is a cinematic adaptation of the timeless story "Obhagir Swargo" written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Animes will be singing the title track of this film.

In a recent interview with Anandabazar Online, Animes shared his excitement, saying, "I am truly overjoyed. Moushumi Chatterjee (music director) has shown immense trust in me. It was Shayan Chowdhury Arnob who first allowed me to perform at 'Coke Studio Bangla'. Even during the lockdown, I started sharing my compositions on YouTube and Facebook. Music has always been in my blood, with my grandfather, father, and mother all being musicians. My passion for this song is deeply rooted in my family's musical legacy."

Animes also revealed his aspiration to elevate the Hajong language and community to international recognition. Presently, the versatile singer is actively engaged in multiple musical projects in Bangladesh. 

Directed by Anirban Chakraborty, "O Obhagi" features Rafiath Rashid Mithila in the lead role. The film also stars Sion Ghosh, Subrata Dutta, and Devyani Chatterjee among others.
