Sushmita Sen reveals working on project based on her life, won't be a biopic
Sushmita Sen's upcoming project "Taali" will soon release on the JioCinema app. During its promotion, the actor unveiled an interesting detail that will be based on her life.
"I've approved two other projects, as well as a third which will not feature me but will be based on my life. So keep an eye out for that. I'm not going to say anything else. I definitely shouldn't have said that, but I'm so pleased about it that I couldn't help myself. You'll realise that it's not a biopic," revealed the actor.
Sushmita Sen will be playing transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in the web-series "Taali" which is directed by Ravi Jadhav.
The actress revealed her preparation for the web-series.
"My director has stated unequivocally that we will not be using prosthetics. We shall not do so in Taali, where it will appear that humanity has taken a back seat and we are impersonating a human individual or a community as a whole," said the actor. He told me to perform out of my skin," added the actor.
"So I was like, 'Okay, then what do I do?'" Sushmita Sen continues.
'Let's put on some weight,' he suggested, and I duly obliged," said Sushmita Sen.
"We hired a wonderful make-up artist, Jeetu Dada, to come in and try on the beard, sideburns, and everything else needed to get into Gauri's mode, which we did. But the part I'm most happy about is that I've also portrayed a man, Ganesh, for the first time. He was an effeminate man, and getting Ganesh's look was a different job," added the actor.
