Nayak Raj Razzak was a blessing to our film industry: Nuton
Farhana Amin Ratna, better known by her stage name Nuton, is a Bangladeshi film actress who made her silver screen debut with "Nuton Probhat" in 1969 and picked the title role as her screen name.
She then acted in several nationwide recognised films, including "Ora Egaro Jon" (1972), "Bosundhora" (1977), "Rupali Shaikate" (1977), "Rajlakshmi Srikanta" (1987), "Streer Paona" (1991).
On the death anniversary of Nayak Raj Razzak, the veteran actress reminisced about her time with the legendary actor to the Daily Star.
"Razzak bhai was a real superstar. An artiste of his stature used to get embarrassed whenever he was referred to as a 'superstar'. He would often just ask, 'Am I acting fine?' Moments like that made me realise that his modesty and his manners are what truly made him a great artiste," said Nuton.
While talking about the actor's influence on her life, she said, "I have played the leading role in many films directed and produced by Nayak Razzak. I will forever cherish his contributions to my acting career. Even today, his words resonate deeply with me."
"Razzak bhai cast me in his directorial 'Sot Bhai' movie. Even though some people suggested selecting someone else would be better, he insisted on giving me the chance. He was a great artiste with a kind heart," the veteran actress added.
Audiences still enjoy movies like "Ora Egaro Jon", "Koti Takar Kabin", "Mala Moti", where the duo shared the screen together.
"Nayak Razzak was a blessing and a guardian to the Bengali film industry. He was like a counsellor to me too. Words won't suffice to express his human qualities and contributions as an artiste," Nuton reminisced.
"Honestly, I think about him almost every day. Nayak Rajjak's name will always remain in our hearts, and it will always echo in our film industry," Nuton concluded.
The actress expressed her love and conveyed her respect and prayers to Nayak Raj Razzak on this day.
