Hotline for power consumers to open tomorrow

The government will launch a "combined hotline number" tomorrow for consumers of six power distributor companies across the country.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid will inaugurate it around 12:00pm tomorrow at Bidyut Bhaban, said a press release today.

From tomorrow, clients will be able to access all kinds of information and lodge complaints by dialing 16999, Deputy Principal Information Officer of the ministry Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin told The Daily Star.

Currently, the six distributor companies have separate hotline numbers, but consumers can access any call centre out of the six distributors only by calling this 16999, said Aslam Uddin.
