PM to leave Johannesburg for Dhaka today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will depart Johannesburg for Dhaka today, wrapping up her visit to South Africa.

She attended the 15th BRICS Summit held in Johannesburg from August 22 to 24 at the invitation of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

A regular flight of Emirates, carrying the PM and her entourage, will take off from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg around 1:40pm (local time).

The flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:40am (Bangladesh time) tomorrow after a two-hour stopover at Dubai International Airport in UAE.

On August 22, Sheikh Hasina arrived in Johannesburg to attend the 15th Summit of BRICS nations — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This year's summit was hosted by South Africa.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa attended the summit.
