‘School of Rock’: Musicians stand together for local strays

After a month-long gap, rock concerts are returning to International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). ETC Events is organising a star-studded rock extravaganza, titled "The School of Rock Volume 1", on September 15, featuring some of the biggest bands in the Bangladeshi rock music scene.

The concert will showcase a total of eight bands, including Warfaze, Avoidrafa, Shonar Bangla Circus, Karnival, Aftermath, Plasmic Knock and AK Rahul. But that's not all! The biggest attraction of this concert will be the living legend Mahfuz Anam James. Affectionately called 'Guru' by his fans, James will enchant the crowd with a set list filled with his biggest hits.

Additionally, attendees will be able to experience the hosting debut of actor, model and cartoonist Morshed Mishu.

Moreover, ETC Events will also present an opportunity to one emerging band to share the stage with the music icons. The organisers have already started the selection process and the winner will be announced shortly. A few more surprises await from ETC Events, which will be announced soon.

The musical show is centred on the theme "Cause for Paws". A portion of the collected revenue will be pledged towards the treatment, nutrition and vaccination of stray cats and dogs in our city. "I believe that we can guide our youth to be more compassionate by encouraging them to love stray animals, while also appreciating the energy of rock music," said Marufa Yasmin Antora, CEO of ETC Events.
