How much did ‘Jawan’ earn after its first week in Bangladesh?
Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" was released in Bangladesh on September 7, coinciding with the same day as its global debut. Within one week, the film has crossed almost Rs 700 crores worldwide within nine days of its release.
The "Jawan" mania also took over Bangladesh as it generated a good amount of revenue within the first week in Bangladesh.
After being released on the same day, "Jawan" generated Tk 70 lakhs within the first week in Bangladesh, confirmed Anonno Mamun, Action Cut Entertainment's CEO.
Rongdhonu Group and Action Cut Entertainment jointly imported "Jawan" to Bangladesh.
The movie was released in 46 theaters in Bangladesh. Star Cineplex has 55 shows running daily across its seven branches. Besides, the movie is playing in Lion Cinemas, Blockbuster Cinemas, Madhumita Cinema Hall, Shyamoli, and Monihar Cinema Hall.
The film's import director Anonno Mamun told The Daily Star that it is impossible to state the exact figure. So far, it has earned Tk 70 lakhs since its release in Bangladesh till yesterday.
"Due to high demand, the number of 'Jawan' screenings at Star Cineplex and Lion theatres has increased. I believe the trend will last a long period in our country. This week, I believe the number of cinema halls will increase. However, due to most movie theaters' poor state, we could not expand its distribution. However, the quantity of shows has increased," said Anonno Mamun.
The action flick "Jawan" has been directed by Atlee Kumar. It stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film tells the story of a father and son fighting corruption in India.
