Sodhi removes Tanzid, Soumya, Hridoy in quick succession
Bangladesh are under pressure in their chase of 255 against New Zealand in the second and penultimate ODI in Mirpur today.
The Tigers are 78 for four after 16, with Tamim Iqbal approaching his 57th ODI fifty (41 off 53) and new batter Mahmuduallah Riyad in the middle.
After skipper Liton Das (6) got out early, Tamim was joined by his namesake, Tanzid Hasan Tamim who showed promise until he fell victim to a soft dismissal.
Tanzid struck three boundaries for his 12-ball 16 before his attempted lofted drive found the fielder in the in-field, at mid-off.
In the same over, a couple of deliveries later, spinner Ish Sodhi fooled new batter Soumya Sarkar, leading to an even softer dismissal -- out caught-and-bowled following a forward-defensive stroke.
Sodhi then grabbed his third victim in Towhid Hridoy, bowled out following an inside-edge.
