Vishal Bhardwaj says SRK has ‘indirect cameo’ in ‘Khufiya’, teases film with him
Vishal Bharadwaj is set to return to Netflix with his crime thriller "Khufiya," starring Tabu and Ali Fazal in lead roles. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Azmeri Haque Badhan, and it's already creating quite a buzz in the industry.
While the film's trailer has already piqued everyone's interest, the filmmaker recently hinted at an 'indirect cameo' by none other than superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Bhardwaj revealed that he had hoped to work with SRK for a long time and was even close to doing a picture together once, but the idea was dropped at the last minute.
For those who are unaware, Bhardwaj was scheduled to direct "2 States" with SRK and Asin in the key roles, but things didn't go as planned, and the film was subsequently made with Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and directed by Abhishek Varman.
Bhardwaj added that after the release of "Jawan", he called SRK and the two had a lengthy conversation. Not only that, but he hinted at King Khan's appearance in "Khufiya". The director also revealed that they will collaborate on a full-length movie soon.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh has had a spectacular year, with two of his movies, "Pathaan" and "Jawan", breaking box office records. He recently became the only actor in Indian cinema history to deliver two Rs 1,000 crore films in the same calendar year.
Vishal Bharawaj's "Khufiya" will be available for streaming on Netflix on October 5. The film revolves around a gripping espionage thriller, where the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) is confronted with the haunting presence of a mole within its ranks. Tabu, the powerhouse performer, leads a relentless mission to unveil the identity of this elusive traitor. Running for over two minutes, the trailer teases viewers with an intriguing narrative, boldly claiming to be "based on true events". Badhan was seen in the last part of the trailer, where she conversed with Tabu and told her that she is known as 'KM' in Bangladesh.
