'Something Like an Autobiography' premiered at Busan International Film Festival
Mostafa Sarwar Farooki's much awaited film "Something Like an Autobiography" was finally premiered at the 28th Busan International Film Festival yesterday.
Earlier, the film's core cast Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, their beautiful daughter Illham, and its producer Redoan Rony, traveled to Busan for the special screening of the film.
The film offers viewers a glimpse into the real lives of Farooki and Tisha. The film explores themes of love, suspicion, and the complex dynamics of human relationships.
Yesterday, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki posted a heartfelt status after the special screening of the film took place at the Busan Cinema Centre on Sunday at 8:30 pm.
"Some films are special because you don't make them with a script! These are the films which are written with our vulnerabilities, dreams, desires, joy and pain! Something Like An Autobiography is one such film," read his post.
"We had a great premiere screening tonight at the Busan Cinema Centre Cinematheque! A film doesn't end when the credit rolls. It stays with you. The Busan, and also international, audience made me realise this once again! Love you all! Can't wait for my Bangladeshi audience to experience this film. The cutest thing was the accreditation card for the youngest festival guest," concluded the post.
The movie had its second screening at 9 am today along with a Q & A session with the "Something Like an Autobiography" team at Cinema Centum City Four in Lotte, Busan. The film's final screening will be held on October 11 at 9 pm at Lotte Cinema Centum City Ten Theatre.
Previously, Farooki shared on his Facebook that "Something Like an Autobiography" is more than just a movie; it's a heartfelt expression of love. He explained that the film is, in essence, a "love letter to our daughter Ilham." It can also be seen as a universal love letter to all daughters, written by their father or mother.
"Autobiography" has received further attention by securing a nomination for the prestigious "Kim Jiseok Award". Named in honour of the late director Kim Jiseok, this award recognises outstanding contributions to cinema. Farooki's film is competing with other exceptional works worldwide for this esteemed accolade.
