Srijit supported me when I was going through the loss of my father: Chanchal Chowdhury
Chanchal Chowdhury's upcoming movie, "Padatik," is all set to make its debut on the global stage at the London Indian Film Festival.
The news was confirmed by Chanchal Chowdhury to The Daily Star.
Chanchal expressed his joy, saying, "This news fills me with great happiness. The fact that 'Padatik' will be featured at the London Indian Film Festival is a momentous occasion."
He also went on to share that he portrayed the role of Mrinal Sen in the film, a revered figure who played a pivotal role in shaping Bengali cinema's unique identity. This opportunity is an immense honor for him.
London Indian Film Festival is one of the largest film festivals of South Asian cinema in Europe. The event will be held in four cities in England, namely, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds from October 25 to November 4. The Mrinal Sen biopic will be showcased on the last day of the film festival.
"Padatik" will be screened three times in London, and Chanchal expressed his excitement about the film's international debut.
"This is a significant achievement for an actor, especially as the movie is making its inaugural appearance at a London film festival," said Chanchal.
He also shared that when his father passed away during movie's production, Srijit Mukherji helped him a lot emotionally to cope up with the situation.
"I can't thank my director, Srijit Mukherji, enough, he played a crucial role in supporting me during a challenging time when my father was unwell. The way he supported and empathise with me, was very important for me to keep going," said Chanchal.
Srijit and Chanchal are all set to grace the festival with their presence.
