Ronaldinho lands in Dhaka
Brazil's World Cup-winning footballer Ronaldinho Gaucho has landed in Dhaka on a short trip from Kolkata this afternoon.
The Brazilian will have a meet and greet event at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka on the night of October 18, where Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin and national team captain Jamal Bhuiyan, among others, have been invited.
The now-retired footballer had won all major trophies with Brazil and dazzled football fans around the world while playing for European giants like PSG, Barcelona, and AC Milan.
According to Kolkata-based sports promoter Satadru Dutta, who is bringing Ronaldinho to Dhaka, the Brazilian legend will leave the country in the early hours of Thursday.
The Brazilian may also pay a visit to the Prime Minister's Office subject to an appointment of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Dutta had recently brought Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to Dhaka in July this year. That tour, however, drew some criticism due to the lack of opportunity for public interaction with the fans as well as the Argentine's apparent snub of Bangladesh captain Jamal at the airport on his way to Kolkata.
