EC decides to withdraw Habiganj DC

The Election Commission has decided to withdraw Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj Debi Chanda, also the Returning Officer of the district, "to ensure a free and fair election".

A letter, signed by EC deputy secretary Md Mizanur Rahman, was sent to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, in this regard today.

The EC also requested the ministry to appoint a suitable officer for the post, reads the letter.
