Attacks on presidents, candidates in US history before Trump

Former US president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot while delivering a speech at a rally. Political violence in the US is not a new phenomenon. Such incidents have occurred multiple times in the country. Former US presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy, among others, were shot by assassins.
