Apple is planning to announce an AI-enabled wall-mounted tablet as soon as March, according to a recent report by Bloomberg News. The device, internally code-named J490, is designed to manage smart home functions, support video conferencing, and utilise artificial intelligence for app navigation.

Apple's device will resemble a squared iPad, with dimensions around the size of two iPhones placed side by side and featuring a roughly 6-inch screen. The tablet will reportedly be available in silver and black finishes, potentially carrying a price tag of up to $1,000, though more affordable display-only versions are likely to be released.

While the new product is designed as a standalone device, it will still require an iPhone for certain tasks, as per the report. However, Apple has not officially commented on the device.

The wall-mounted tablet might compete directly with Google's Nest Hub and Amazon's Echo Show and Echo Hub devices.
