NSC declares nine sports adhoc committees
The National Sports Council (NSC) on Thursday formed ad-hoc committees for nine sports federations after dissolving the existing committees.
Bridge, tennis, squash, kabaddi, athletics, billiard, basketball, chess and hockey are among nine sports bodies which got new adhoc committees after the youth and sports ministry removed the heads of all federations except hockey a couple of months ago.
The committees feature 14 to 19 members with the dominance of former athletes as well as businessmen and service holders.
The NSC statement said that the NSC dissolved all nine sports federation committees with its designated power under article 18 of NSC Law 2018.
However, unlike the previous circular, the statement did not instruct the adhoc committee to hold the elections under any timeframes.
