Tareque Masud Memorial Trust launches initiative to support young filmmakers
Young filmmakers in Bangladesh tend to pursue creating films of varying lengths, despite challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, funding shortages, and other obstacles in film education and practice. Their efforts often go unsupported, with limited opportunities for proper guidance and exhibition.
To encourage and assist these aspiring creators, the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust (TMMT), Independent Film Producers' Platform of Bangladesh (IFPPB), and Cine Craft have arranged a screening process titled Technical Show, according to a press release.
Moreover, in response to the enthusiasm of young filmmakers and their submissions, the Technical Show event will be held twice a month on a fortnightly basis.
The late filmmaker Tareque Masud was deeply committed to supporting and inspiring young talents, which is why this event has been dedicated to his memory.
This initiative will give up-and-coming filmmakers the chance to present their creations to a mix of experienced and new filmmakers, industry professionals, and audience members. They will offer feedback and advice to the emerging filmmakers on their showcased films.
The Tareque Masud Memorial Trust believes that emerging filmmakers can gather valuable feedback and responses by showcasing their work in a limited and supportive setting before presenting it at festivals or to larger audiences. The process will enable them to move forward with confidence.
Aspiring filmmakers interested in showcasing their films in the Technical Show can find detailed information on the official Facebook page of the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust.
