Default loan reaches record high of Tk 2.85 lakh crore
Non-performing loans (NPLs) in Bangladesh's banking sector soared to a historic high of Tk 284,977 crore in September, accounting for around 17 percent of total outstanding loans.
The total outstanding loan stands at Tk 16.82 lakh crore.
This marks the highest volume of bad loans in the country's history, surpassing the previous record of Tk 211,391 crore reported in the April-June quarter, according to data from the Bangladesh Bank.
