Fireman dies in fire extinguisher blast in Pabna
A Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel died after a fire extinguisher explosded in Kashinathpur Fulbagan area of Pabna last night.
The deceased, Md Abdur Razzak, 35, was a driver of Kashinathpur Fire Station.
Md Jakir Hossain, senior station officer of Pabna Fire Service, said the incident took place at the Kashinathpur Fulbagan area at about 10:00pm when Razzak went to refill fire extinguisher from a shop in the area.
The victim was refilling the extinguishers and at one stage one of them exploded due to excessive pressure leaving him critically injured, Jakir said.
His hands and legs were severed from the body. In a critical condition, he was taken in Pabna General Hospital but the doctors declared him dead.
High officials of fire service visited the spot.
The body will be handed over to his family after completing official procedures, Jakir added.
