‘Kajolrekha’ makes its way to OTT
Gias Uddin Selim's last film "Kajolrekha," based on the 400-year-old "Maimansingha Gitika", makes its way to OTT debut after a seven-month-long run in theatres.
The director confirmed to local media that the film has premiered on the Bongo platform today, offering a wider audience the chance to experience this historical epic.
Selim shared that viewers can watch "Kajolrekha" on Bongo for just Tk 20. Speaking to bdnews24, the filmmaker said, "Many have been eagerly waiting to watch the film on OTT. The wait is almost over."
Mondera Chakroborty stars as the titular character, marking her big-screen debut after heading toward fame in 2012 as the winner of the Best Dancer competition organised by Channel i.
Popular actor Sariful Razz, known for his performances in "Poran" and "Hawa", portrays the role of the king in the film, while Rafiath Rashid Mithila plays the villainous character Kankan Dasi.
The film also stars Khairul Basar, Azad Abul Kalam, Iresh Zaker, Gousul Alam Shaon, and Sadia Ayman, among many others.
Several songs from the movie, including "Holud Re Tui", "Konya Ake Go Alpona", and "Bap Morey Koi Loiya Jao Go", have gained popularity among audiences. The music and score for "Kajolrekha" were composed by Kafil Ahmed and Emon Chowdhury.
Filming for the movie took place across several locations, including Netrokona's Durgapur, the Sundarbans in Khulna, Cox's Bazar, the Haor wetlands in Sylhet, and Mirpur in Dhaka.
