Stocks declining since morning
Stocks dropped in early trading today as investors continued to grapple with the fallout from Moody's recent downgrade of Bangladesh's credit rating from B1 to B2, along with a revision of its long-term outlook from stable to negative.
The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, fell 0.86 percent as of 11:18 am today.
The index lost 45.14 points to 5152.43 in the morning trade.
Of the issues, 97 advanced, 189 declined, and 83 remained unchanged.
Total turnover stood at Tk 90.60 crore.
Vanguard AML BD Finance Mutual Fund One led the gains, rising over 9 percent, while Energypac Power Generation PLC dropped the most, shedding over 11 percent.
The CSE All Share Price Index also fell, losing 0.17 percent or 24.86 points to settle at 14,559.40.
