Bangladesh batter Zawad Abrar and Azizul Hakim Tamim hit half-centuries to guide their side to a five-wicket win over Nepal in the ACC Under-19s Men's Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The win took the defending champions into the semifinal of the tournament, courtesy of consecutive wins in their first two Group B matches. With qualification to the final four already in the bag, Tamim's troops will now fight for the top spot in the group when they take on Sri Lanka in their final group-stage fixture at the same venue on Tuesday.

Opener Zawad smashed four sixes and five fours in a 65-ball 59 and put together a 90-run stand with Tamim, who followed his century in the previous match with a 72-ball 52 featuring three sixes and two fours, to take Bangladesh across the finish line in 28.4 overs in pursuit of a 141-run total.

Leg-spinner Yuvraj Khatri scalped four wickets for Nepal.

Earlier, a collective effort from the Bangladesh bowlers bundled out Nepal for 141. Pacers Al Fahad, Iqbal Hossain Emon, and Rizan Hossan picked up two wickets each.
