Shakib Khan’s ‘Dorod’ to premiere in cinemas across Malaysia
Shakib Khan's latest film, "Dorod", which premiered on November 15, is set for an international release. Directed by Anonno Mamun, the movie will open in 18 cinemas across Malaysia on December 6.
The growing demand for Shakib Khan's films among the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Malaysia is no surprise. His previous blockbusters, "Priyotoma" and "Toofan", created a massive buzz, drawing significant attention and acclaim.
Distributors attribute the remarkable success of these films to Khan's increasing prominence among the Bangladeshi diaspora. Building on this momentum, Bangladeshi exhibition companies JetZG Enterprise SDN BHD and Happy Trip Travel and Tour have partnered to bring "Dorod" to Malaysian audiences.
The announcement was made at a press conference held on November 29 at the Royal Ruposhi Restaurant in Kotaraya, Kuala Lumpur. It was revealed that "Dorod" will officially be released in Malaysia on December 6, with screenings expanding to 18 cinemas nationwide by December 7.
The film is slated to be shown at prominent Malaysian cinemas, including KLCC, Times Square, Rawang, Klang, Johor Bahru City Square, Ipoh, Penang BM, Penang City, Melaka, Muar, Seremban, Kuantan, Selayang, Shah Alam ICT, Klang Bukit Raja, Subang Summit, Kota Tinggi, and Batu Pahat.
"Dorod" has already generated substantial excitement among Bangladeshi expatriates in Malaysia, fueled by its success in Bangladesh.
SM Moazzem Hossain Nipu, head of Happy Trip Travel and Tours in Malaysia, highlighted Shakib Khan's immense popularity within the expatriate community. He expressed confidence that "Dorod" will draw packed audiences to theatres across the country.
